Just a quick heads up. Progress towards a playable demo is now out of the treacle and into the fast track. Improving the network front-end was necessary to make it easy for people to create and join adventures. Now that's in and working nicely. You can start an adventure and have people join you party before launching, and also have others jump in as you play.
With all the network code complete (save a few issues to fix as I go) the next step is crafting the demo. That's the fun bit! Designing the characters and levels and skills. Got an artist on board who's making some much prettier dungeon tiles, which makes a big difference to the look. Looking forwards to it!
